The dirty rivers are just about to release the 2nd single “THE KID” which has
already had brilliant reviews and BBC radio play (Janice Long
show on BBC radio 2) ( Dave Monks radio Merseyside)
“A small storm's been brewing in Liverpool. The type of which whipped up
when Phil Leotardo returned from the can.
It's heavy, compelling, provocative and something you're likely to become
accustom to, whether you're on side or not.
The Dirty Rivers have been ramping up their shotgun rock and roll for
sometime; honing their meat-cleaver riffs and bruising percussive
steamrollers now they're ready to detonate.
Helmed by Ryan Ellis' Black Angels breezeblock guitar and cyclone
personified Mike Ellis, they were the knock out blow at Milk's Jordan Street
launch party, and new track The Kid showcases their full frontal attack in full
glory.
There's more to come. Stand by for the hit.” Peter Guy : get into this. 14/4/13

THE DIRTY RIVERS LAUNCH THEIR BRILLIANT DEBUT SINGLE "BLACKHEART/FILTH" AVAILABLE ON FREE DOWNLOAD FROM 25TH FEB.
GREAT REVIEW FROM OCCUPY THE SILENCE:
Despite NME hyped band of the moment Palma Violets and indie icon Johnny Marr both releasing their debut albums the same day, the musical highlight on Monday was far and away the launch of the Dirty Rivers new single – Which they’re giving away for free.
Having seen them for the first time earlier this year at This Feeling, I was hooked on their live performance – so this release of debut single Black Heart / Filth had me pretty excited. Opening with a crashing of symbols and Johnny Marr-esque jangly guitars, front man Mike Ellis croons “I’ve been waiting to change for too long”. It’s a catchy and strong start and everything’s seemingly going well, if not a little safe. Well, ‘safe’ is abandoned around the 2 and half-minute mark when all hell breaks loose and an absolute beast of track is unleashed.
With the heavy thumping bass lines and scuzzy bluesy riffs, there’s an element of BRMC and Kasabian in this absolute belter of tune. Black Heart / Filth is everything that’s missing with the current guitar scene; it oozes passion in the bucket loads. Meaningful lyrics, loud, raw guitar sounds and a pounding drum beat – this is no paint by numbers guitar band, The Dirty Rivers are a proper Rock N Roll band.
For once, this is actually a band that deserves the hype and that doesn’t happen too often. Londoners, The Dirty Rivers play the Queen of Hoxton on Saturday 9th March – do yourself a favour and go watch what in a few years time will quite possibly be one of the biggest bands in the country.
THE DIRTY RIVERS working on fantastic new songs. They are playing BBC introducing on Friday 18th May at the Krazyhouse. Make sure you see them!!
